Onsemi's latest design combines driver and passenger monitoring in a single camera, enhancing automotive safety and delivering a superior user experience.

Onsemi, a leader in intelligent power and sensing technologies, today announced a joint reference design for a Driver and Occupant Monitoring System (DOMS) in collaboration with Emotion3D, a leading supplier of camera-based automotive interior analytics software.

The latest design combines driver and passenger monitoring in a single camera, enabling a range of safety features and a high-quality user experience.

This enables automotive OEMs to deploy high-performance, low-cost, next-generation in-vehicle imaging solutions for safer and more convenient driving.

Based on Emotion3D’s CABIN EYE AI software stack and ON Semiconductor’s AR0820AT 8.3MP image sensor, the new DOMS solution not only replaces a single-task driver monitoring mono/IR camera, but also enables a variety of use cases for safety and convenience by employing a single color/IR camera.
