UNIST (President Lee Yong-hoon) and Yonsei University Medical Center (Director Yoon Dong-seop) are strengthening research capabilities and contributing to the advancement of medical technology through the promotion of joint research in the field of smart healthcare.

UNIST and Yonsei University Medical Center held a 'UNIST-Yonsei University Medical Center Business Agreement Ceremony' on the 10th at the main conference room on the 6th floor of the UNIST main building.

Through this agreement, the two institutions agreed to identify joint research projects in the field of smart healthcare, establish a foundation for active exchange of researchers, and cooperate for other research and technological advancements in the field of smart healthcare.

Prior to this agreement, the two institutions secured 200 million won in joint research funds and launched joint research on the themes of genomics and medical imaging, selecting a total of nine projects including 'Development of a new brain magnetic resonance imaging analysis model for predicting neurological prognosis of premature infants' and 'Genomic analysis of adenocystic carcinoma using spatial multiomics'.

UNIST President Lee Yong-hoon stated, “This MOU and joint research combine UNIST’s world-class basic and applied research capabilities in the bio field, including genomics, with the clinical medical personnel of Yonsei University Medical Center. "It will serve as an opportunity to pioneer new medical technologies in the smart healthcare field by combining know-how," he said.

Yoon Dong-sup, President of Yonsei University Medical Center, stated, “Medical technology research incorporating AI and IT through collaboration with UNIST will be a very meaningful start to solving challenges in the medical field and developing innovative medical technologies, and I have high expectations for future achievements.”
