The government has selected 21 leading companies in the materials, parts, and equipment sectors to lead the global market in core strategic technology fields and is providing full-cycle support from technology development to global expansion.

The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy (Minister Moon Seung-wook) held the '2022 Designation Ceremony for Top Materials, Parts, and Equipment Companies' at the Four Seasons Hotel in Gwanghwamun on the 10th.

At the event, representatives from all 21 companies of the 2nd batch of top companies in materials, parts, and equipment attended to receive their certificates of designation and shared their aspirations and visions.

Six companies were selected as the top companies in the second round of materials, parts, and equipment in the semiconductor sector, including Nanotech, Raon Tech, PSK, Nepes, ENF Technology, and SK Siltron, while five companies were selected in the electrical and electronics sector, including Trino Technology, Cheonbo, Ible Photonics, Innertron, and Yulchon Chemical.

In the machinery and metal sector, four companies were selected: Hyundai Heavy Industries Turbo Machinery, Donghwa Entech, DY Power, and Hwashin; in the automotive sector, two companies were selected: Digen and Iljin Hisolus.

Two companies, Youngwoo and TSR, were selected in the basic chemical sector, and two companies, NC Chem and LT Metal, were selected in the display sector.

Among the top materials, parts, and equipment companies selected this time Looking at some of the companies, E&F Technology is the leading domestic company in electronic materials (such as semiconductor etching solutions), including semiconductor/display process materials and organic materials. Recently, it completed the in-house development of mass production technology for ultra-high purity hydrogen fluoride, which was previously entirely dependent on imports from Japan, and plans to expand its business into related domestic and international markets.

Digen has succeeded in localizing automotive LCD modules for the first time in Korea and developed a blind spot detection radar for vehicles for the first time among mid-sized companies. It plans to expand into overseas markets with its AGL (Linux-based automotive infotainment system), Android OS operating technology, and large-screen digital cluster quick boot technology.

SK Siltron is one of the top five global companies manufacturing silicon wafers, a core component of semiconductors. Since 2020, it has entered the power semiconductor wafer market and is expanding its scope into next-generation businesses to respond to the adoption and expansion of electric vehicles and 5G.

The government plans to provide customized, close support for five years to the 21 companies selected as top enterprises. We provide support throughout the entire lifecycle, including technology development, commercialization, and global expansion, by utilizing dedicated and linked programs.

In addition, it is planned to prioritize the provision of R&D worth up to 25 billion won over five years, a significant reduction in corporate contributions, support for demonstration evaluations utilizing public institution testbeds, and industrial technology policy funds.

In addition, we provide multifaceted support to help companies successfully enter the global market, including customized export strategy consulting and assistance with participation in overseas online and offline exhibitions.
