Galaxy Tab's First 4nm Processor Equipped

Samsung Electronics introduced the "Galaxy Tab S8" series upgraded with a maximum 14.6-inch display and 4nm processor.

Samsung Electronics unveiled the premium tablet new product "Galaxy Tab S8 Series" through the "Galaxy Unpacked 2022" event held online on the 10th (based on Korean time).

The "Galaxy Tab S8 Series" unveiled this time consists of △Galaxy Tab S8 △Galaxy Tab S8+ △Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra models, and each product applies △a new ultra-fast 4nm processor △enhanced usability 'S Pen' △Armor aluminum for improved durability.

The weights of each series are △Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra 726g (Wi-Fi), 728g (5G) △S8+ 567g (Wi-Fi), 572g (5G) △S8 503g (Wi-Fi), 507g (5G).

■ Galaxy Tab's Most Powerful Performance "Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra"

The "Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra" features a 14.6-inch Super AMOLED display for the first time in Galaxy Tab history.

The bezel size has been reduced to 6.3mm, the thinnest among all Galaxy Tab S models to date, and the aspect ratio is set to 16:10 to enable even more immersive video viewing.

The "Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra" is equipped with two cameras on the front for the first time in Galaxy Tab history: a 12-megapixel main camera and an ultra-wide-angle camera.

With enhanced 4K recording capability, it is possible to produce clear videos with both front and rear cameras.

In particular, the "Selfie Video" feature is supported among the "Screen Recording" functions, allowing users to easily create video content that includes their image.

Through the 120-degree ultra-wide-angle front camera, "Auto Framing" is supported, which automatically adjusts the composition to match the person when a new person enters the screen during a video call without needing to zoom out or adjust the angle separately, allowing users to focus on the call.

Additionally, three microphones are equipped to minimize surrounding noise, allowing the user's voice to be conveyed more clearly, and four speakers enable vivid sound enjoyment.

■ Further Enhanced Usability

The "Galaxy Tab S8 Series," equipped with a 4nm processor for the first time in Galaxy Tab history, provides memory upgraded one step further compared to the previous model.

The "Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra" supports up to 16GB RAM, while the "Galaxy Tab S8" and "Galaxy Tab S8+" being released in Korea support up to 12GB RAM.

All three models can expand storage space up to 1TB by separately purchasing a microSD card.

The "Galaxy Tab S8 Series" is the first Galaxy Tab to support Wi-Fi 6E.

When using the "Quick Share" function with Wi-Fi 6E connectivity between the "Galaxy Tab S8 Series" and "Galaxy S22 Ultra" smartphone, photos, videos, and files can be shared at up to twice the previous speed.

Additionally, through a large-capacity battery that adjusts power output according to user activity, long-duration video viewing is possible, and with maximum 45W fast charging, the "Galaxy Tab S8" and "Galaxy Tab S8+" can be fully charged within 80 minutes, and the "Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra" within 90 minutes.

When connecting the "Galaxy Tab S8 Series" to a smartphone using a USB-C cable, the tablet's high-speed charging battery can be utilized as the smartphone's charger.

The "S Pen" of the "Galaxy Tab S8+" and "Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra" applies a prediction algorithm to improve the response time to 2.8ms (based on "Samsung Notes" app usage), providing a handwriting feel equivalent to writing with an actual pen on paper.

Additionally, screen split is supported to enable up to three tasks to be performed on a single screen.

The "Galaxy Tab S8 Series" supports up to four types of screen split formats depending on the app type, allowing users to select window size, layout, screen split order, and more according to their preferences.

■ Flexible Device Connectivity and Enhanced "Samsung Notes" and "Samsung DeX"

The "Galaxy Tab S8 Series" can be seamlessly integrated with the Galaxy ecosystem through Samsung's "One UI Tab 4".

The tablet is also characterized by its ability to connect with smartphones, PCs, and more.

Additionally, through the "Auto Switch" function, if a call comes in while wearing Galaxy Buds and watching a movie on the tablet, pressing the call button will connect the Galaxy Buds to the smartphone, and after the call, they will automatically reconnect to the tablet, allowing continuous movie viewing.

Through the newly equipped "Samsung Health" app, users can check exercise content-related information and monitor health and fitness data managed through a smartphone or Galaxy Watch on a tablet with a larger screen.

Through "Samsung DeX," which provides a PC-level work environment, multiple app windows can be displayed like on a PC, and using "Dex Mirroring," the tablet's "DeX" execution screen can be displayed directly on a TV or monitor screen.

■ Strengthened Personal Information Protection

The "Galaxy Tab S8 Series" allows users to easily check camera and microphone usage in the status bar at the top of the screen and conveniently control them.

Additionally, through "Knox Vault," the industry's leading security platform, personal data is encrypted, and stored files and information are separated from the tablet's basic operating system to protect against external attacks.

Starting with the "Galaxy Tab S8 Series," the Galaxy Tab S series to be released in the future will expand Android OS upgrade support from the existing 3 times to 4 times, and security-related updates from 4 times to 5 times, allowing users to use new features along with the latest security features.

Noh Tae-moon, head of Samsung Electronics' MX Business Division, stated, "The role of video is becoming more important than ever in consumers' experience and communication, such as video calls and content consumption, and we focused on the tablet's most attractive features: the large screen and portability.
