Infineon Technologies (Korea CEO Seung-soo Lee) is launching a gate driver that prevents short circuits, helping to protect various industrial systems.

Infineon announced today the addition of the F3 enhanced version (1ED332x) family to its portfolio of isolated EiceDRIVER™ Enhanced gate drivers, which protect systems by preventing short circuits.

This family of gate drivers implements robust, multi-faceted protection to prevent destructive short-circuit events.

This provides excellent protection not only for traditional power switches such as IGBTs, but also for CoolSiC™ wide bandgap devices.

This driver family can be used in a variety of applications, including industrial drives, solar systems, electric vehicle charging, energy storage systems, and industrial air conditioning.

The EiceDRIVER F3 enhanced version is available in a 300mil wide body DSO 16 package with a large creepage distance of 8mm.

It is a single-channel isolated gate driver with a common mode transient immunity (CMTI) of 300 kV/us. It is excellent and the rated output current is up to 8.5A.

Strict transmission delay matching minimizes deadtime, improves system efficiency, and reduces harmonic distortion.

These drivers include active Miller clamping capabilities along with short-circuit clamping and active shutdown.

This product family is available in various power levels and supports a maximum output voltage of 40V.

It is also designed for high ambient temperature and high-speed switching applications, making it suitable for use with IGBTs, IGBT7, and SiC MOSFETs.

Additionally, with a 2,300 V capacity, it supports power switches with a blocking voltage of 1,200 V or higher. UL 1577 and VDE 0884-11 (reinforced insulation) certification ensure high application reliability and a long operating life.
