Synology® is expected to see a 40% increase in annual revenue in Korea last year, and is actively targeting the enterprise market with new storage, network, and monitoring products to meet the rapidly growing market environment.

Synology held a press conference on the 30th and announced that its annual sales in the Korean market reached 40% growth in 2021.

In addition, several new products were announced, including DiskStation Manager 7.1 (DSM 7.1) version with improved overall system protection and management efficiency of NAS, Surveillance Station 9.0 with high expansion flexibility and enhanced security and privacy, high-density storage server HD6500, intelligent video monitoring equipment DVA1622, and Wi-Fi 6 router RT6600ax.

Seok Mi-eun, Senior Sales Manager, who presented at the event, said that Synology's global cumulative shipments exceeded 10 million units in 2021 and annual revenue grew by more than 30%, with annual revenue growth in the Korean market reaching 40%.

Synology also has a strong presence in the SMB market, driven by the strong demand for data management and protection from enterprises in the post-COVID era. We've achieved results. The event also announced new products and software updates.

First of all, the new version DSM 7.1 is a large-scale upgrade based on DSM 7.0, including support for SMB DFS function, support for allocating SSD cache to multiple storage volumes to maximize storage space usage, and support for disaster recovery by fully backing up Synology NAS to another NAS through the license-free backup package Active Backup for Business.

Additionally, popular packages including Active Backup for Business, Synology MailPlus Server, Synology Drive, and Active Insight have all received feature upgrades to provide users with a more efficient IT management experience and enhanced data security.

Surveillance Station 9.0, a monitoring solution for commercial surveillance environments, features several new services and feature updates in three aspects: monitoring management, large-scale deployment, and security privacy.

On the management side, a new Monitoring Center is created by integrating a real-time video Live View and a Timeline for viewing recorded videos, providing a new monitoring management interface and implementing a more flexible work process.

Part of the expansion flexibility is the ability to batch scan IP sections and import settings, allowing users to deploy a large number of cameras at once.

To meet the data storage needs of fast-growing businesses, Synology has launched a new product line, the High Density series. The HD6500, a product that will be released in the second quarter, is equipped with two Intel® Xeon® Silver 4210R 10-core CPUs and is designed with 60 4U hard disk slots, allowing it to provide an ultra-high storage capacity of over 1PB in a single system.

The flagship router model RT6600ax, which supports Wi-Fi 6, is equipped with a quad-core 1.8GHz processor and is built to the new Wi-Fi 6 standard, capable of delivering a combined wireless transmission rate of over 6Gbps. Its three frequency bands can be co-located with 2.5GbE WAN/LAN access points, ensuring maximum connection speeds for each device. Furthermore, the RT6600ax's six custom-designed built-in antennas feature a new wall-mounting hole, allowing users to conveniently hang the product as needed.

Additionally, to meet the demands of smart video analysis tasks in small and medium-sized stores, the company will be launching the new DVA1622, which features an Intel Celeron J4025 processor, supports 16 cameras, and supports two DVA tasks or one face recognition task. The DVA1622 also supports local display and H.265 decoding, and can output 4K video for real-time video monitoring on a TV simply by connecting an HDMI cable.
