Mouser announced today that it is now stocking the AS5172E high-resolution magnetic position sensor from ams OSRAM.

Qualified to AEC-Q100 Grade 1, this magnetic position sensor offers excellent durability in automotive applications including brake and gas pedals, fuel level measurement systems, steering angle sensors, and non-contact potentiometers.

The ams Osram AS5172E sensor, available from Mouser Electronics, measures the orthogonal components of the magnetic flux density over a full rotation, providing highly accurate angular position measurements.

Featuring a 14-bit sensor array and analog front end, this sensor compensates for external stray magnetic fields through a patented dual measurement method, ensuring accurate results via a 12-bit PSI5 output (V1.3 and V2.1) at a minimum 90° arc.

The rugged AS5172E sensor supports a wide operating temperature range of -40°C to 125°C and a supply voltage of up to 16.5V, with overvoltage protection up to 20V and reverse polarity protection up to 18V.
