At the What's Next Western Digital keynote, Western Digital (WD) elaborated on its corporate mission of realizing the potential of data by leveraging its availability, while also unveiling new products inspired by how individuals and businesses use data.

WD announced new HDD and flash-based products at the 'What's Next Western Digital' event held in San Francisco, USA on the 9th (local time).

To meet the demands of the intelligent connected device market, which is recording rapid growth alongside the recent spread of cloud computing, it is essential to have greater storage capacity capable of handling the explosively increasing volume of data. In his opening remarks that day, Western Digital CEO David Geckler mentioned the rapidly expanding storage market based on the latest computing.

CEO Geckler explained, “Inspired by our customers’ diverse data usage patterns, we are addressing the wide range of storage needs of various customers, from small intelligent devices to large public clouds, through a strong go-to-market strategy.”

At this event, WD unveiled new flash and HDD products for the cloud, clients, and general consumers, based on expertise accumulated through more than 50 years of technology development experience.

WD emphasized that regarding the specifications of key products, the 22TB CMR, 26TB Ultra SMR HDD, and high-capacity PCIe Gen®4 NVMe™ SSD product families are powerful data storage solutions for cloud customers that support the efficient design of tiered storage solutions. Through this, cloud customers can create higher value from their existing infrastructure and manage user data more effectively.

Western Digital stated that its new PCIe Gen4-based product, the 'Western Digital PC SN740 NVMe SSD,' delivers an enhanced computing experience by meeting the specific demands of hybrid work environments with its thin, light, low-power design and a maximum sequential read speed of 5,150 MB/s.

The SanDisk® Professional PRO-BLADE™ Modular SSD Ecosystem is designed to meet the growing demand for capturing, transmitting, and preserving high-resolution content. Experts explained that through the Pro Blade solution, data transmission times can be shortened, cost savings can be achieved for the same capacity, and the weight and volume of the equipment can be reduced.

WD announced the addition of two new products to its award-winning gaming-focused WD_BLACK portfolio. The WD_BLACK SN850X NVMe SSD and WD_BLACK P40 Game Drive SSD are praised for enhancing the gaming experience by focusing on meeting both performance and style requirements.
