With the completion of Project Cassini validation and SystemReady IR certification, congatec is poised to deliver a streamlined software experience and a comprehensive, secure standard ecosystem with certified processors.

congatec Korea announced on the 17th that its SMARC computer-on-module based on the NXP i.MX8 M Plus ARM processor has received SystemReady IR certification through Project Cassini.

Hardware with a SystemReady IR certified bootloader has been verified to run original ISO images of Ubuntu, Fedora, OpenSUSE, and Debian operating systems, enabling immediate startup with simple native software installation.

OEMs can immediately enter the market by gaining expertise in congatec OS build services and build environments based on the Yocto project, and can receive efficient user-tailored services through the conga-SMX8-Plus module, a SMARC module equipped with the NXP i.MX8 processor.

Additionally, by building ARM systems based on computer-on-module standards and standardized ISO images, application design becomes highly efficient, reducing non-recurring engineering (NRE) costs and time-to-market for OEMs.
<bFrom a long-term strategic perspective, the Cassini project is seen as having the potential to become a standard for updating, managing, and securing ARM-based IoT and edge devices.
