Schneider Electric Korea (CEO Kim Kyung-rok) and domestic semiconductor chiller equipment company Garage Engineering (CEO Kim Hyeong-gyu) are joining hands for semiconductor-related cooperation, and both companies are expected to expand their markets and improve productivity.

Schneider Electric and Garage Engineering announced on the 24th that they have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to cooperate in the development of semiconductor manufacturing equipment and expansion of the domestic and international component markets for Schneider Electric products.

According to the MOU, Schneider Electric has established a long-term partnership with Garage Engineering to strengthen the competitiveness of both companies' products in the domestic semiconductor market and expand the market by supplying its products to them.

Schneider Electric provides Garage Engineering with the Modicon PLC product family and Proface HMI, providing an integrated supply of automation-related technologies, products, solutions and services for the development of semiconductor chiller equipment.

PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) controls smart factories in manufacturing sites, and HMI monitors the entire device data architecture information in one place.all.

If the PLC acts as the brain, the HMI acts as the eyes in the factory.

Garage Engineering has been able to achieve higher productivity by combining its equipment development capabilities required for chiller manufacturing with Schneider Electric's latest technology.

Kim Hyung-kyu, CEO of Garage Engineering, said, “Through our collaboration with Schneider Electric, we have created an environment where we can further develop semiconductor chillers,” and “Through convergence with global-level innovative technologies, we will lay the foundation for supplying not only domestically but also to the global market.”

Meanwhile, Garage Engineering was founded in 2018 through SK Hynix's in-house venture support program, "HiGarage." The company comprehensively researches temperature-management technology solutions, including the development, repair, modification, and improvement of chillers for semiconductor and industrial processes, and is committed to domestically producing key components for semiconductor processes.
