Nordic Semiconductor (Korean Branch Manager Choi Soo-chul) is adopting a product for Japan's Braveridge's IoT platform, and it is expected to provide a useful solution to developers by automatically resolving network connection errors in cellular IoT products.

Nordic announced on the 30th that Bravebridge has launched 'BraveLINK' and 'BraveGATE', IoT platforms utilizing the Nordic nRF9160 SiP (System-in-Package).

This product can automatically resolve network connection errors and accelerate commercialization for developers designing cellular IoT products.

BraveBridge solves common network problems by providing easy access to general-purpose debugging and interface tools directly from the Arm Cortex-M33 application-specific processor embedded in the nRF9160 SiP.

This solution addresses these challenges by embedding the nRF9160's application-specific processor, with 1MB Flash and 256KB RAM, in the same package as the LTE-M/NB-IoT modem, a feature that stands in contrast to other competing cellular IoT modems.

Also, Bravegate Cloud Service is a serverAn IoT platform that uses only cellular IoT devices powered by the nRF9160 SiP operating in this system, where the user application server acts as a 'client' to the end devices, acting as an on-demand interface for the user application.

This product can reduce development time by months or even years, allowing cellular IoT device manufacturers to focus solely on developing application firmware for end devices and cloud applications.

According to Bravebridge, development time can be reduced by 50% and costs can be reduced by more than 90%.

“This product development would not have been possible without the dedicated application processor in the nRF9160 SiP,” said Yasunari Kohashi, CEO of Braveridge. “Until now, we have had to spend a lot of time processing interrupt conditions coming from the LTE-M network via UART to an external application processor. However, the application processor built into the nRF9160 makes this task easier, which can significantly reduce the overall bug rate.”
