As the cloud ecosystem becomes more complex and hybrid and multi-cloud environments become more widespread, developers are facing increasing difficulties in their development environments. Solutions that address these difficulties and provide developers with useful tools are also gaining attention.

VMware Korea announced on the 24th that it successfully held the developer event 'Korea Spring Meetup' on the 22nd. About 250 domestic DevOps experts and software leaders attended the event held online and discussed cloud native app development in a Kubernetes environment.

The Korea Spring Meetup is an event hosted by the VMware Tanzu team, which provides application modernization solutions based on Kubernetes, to help improve the development experience of domestic developers. Spring is the world's most popular Java framework, focusing on speed, simplicity, and productivity. VMware announced the latest updates to Spring, which is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, and held a live demo presentation and Q&A session.

In particular, Josh Long, a Spring developer advocate and Java champion, participated as a special speaker at this event and announced new Spring features under the theme of ‘New Spring, New Paradigm.’ Then, VMware Korea’s CTO Ambassador, Shin Hye-won, and Tanzu Solution Engineer, Hong Ki-seong, explained and demonstrated Spring Cloud and Spring Cloud Data Flow.

“Today’s complex cloud native ecosystem and the proliferation of hybrid and multi-cloud environments have made the development environment for developers more difficult,” said Youngtae Kim, SVP and GM of VMware Tanzu. “VMware is striving to provide a better developer experience through customized platforms, including the Tanzu application platform, based on the knowledge accumulated by millions of developers over the past 20 years since the birth of Spring.”

Meanwhile, VMware will hold the 'Tanzu Roadshow 2022' online and offline on July 14th for developers, data experts, architects, DevOps, etc. It announced that experts from Tanzu, Tanzu Labs, and Greenplum, including VMware Executive Director Youngtae Kim, will present methods for building new applications, modernizing existing applications, and advancing software development processes centered on cloud native technologies, patterns, and architectures.
