Synology Launches All-Flash Network-Attached Storage Server

Synology has launched a new storage server that delivers all-flash performance for every business, making it ideal for users who require high throughput and high-performance storage.
Synology announced on the 23rd that it recently launched the FS3410, the latest product in its FlashStation series of all-flash network-attached storage servers.
The FS3410, a mid-range 3000 series device, is an economical server with excellent networking capabilities out of the box.
It is suitable for use cases that require high-performance storage, including VM storage and protection, file synchronization, and business application hosting with high throughput.
“FS3410 meets the demand for faster and more responsive storage solutions in scenarios such as high-resolution video post-production, Building Information Modeling (BIM), Geographic Information Systems (GIS), and large-scale CAD projects,” said Julien Chen, Synology Product Manager. “With all-flash performance, it can host virtual machine storage and productivity applications like MailPlus, Synology’s secure and reliable private email server,” he said.
Featuring the versatile Synology DiskStation Manager (DSM) operating system, the 2U 24-bay FS3410 is powered by an Intel® Xeon® octa-core processor and is a dual-purpose storage solution that combines NAS and SAN capabilities.
Alternatively, support is provided by adding Fibre Channel and high-speed 40/56GbE networking as an option.
With powerful performance of over 356,000/129,000 4K random read/write IOPS, it is suitable for any file server, block storage, or lightweight application server role that requires high availability, reliability, and advanced storage technology.
Synology's enterprise storage products feature market-proven hardware designs and deliver unmatched reliability. Advanced storage drive monitoring provides administrators with better, more accurate health predictions, and critical drive firmware updates are seamlessly and automatically performed.
The FS3410 is fully certified to support VMware® vSphere™, Microsoft® Hyper-V®, Citrix® XenServer™, OpenStack® Cinder, and supports Kubernetes CSI. Advanced storage management and LUN capabilities, along with VMware® VAAI and Windows® ODX support, accelerate VM performance and provide ultra-fast snapshot creation, recovery, and cloning. Volume-level deduplication can reduce storage space very efficiently by up to 3.15:1.
Synology High Availability maximizes service availability, allowing you to connect the FS3410 with other identical devices to form a high-availability cluster. The active/passive architecture automatically switches services over within minutes if a single device experiences planned or unplanned downtime.
Synology FlashStations include comprehensive applications for backing up and protecting VMware® vSphere™ and Microsoft® Hyper-V® virtual machines. Active Backup for Business allows users to easily protect existing infrastructure and quickly restore VMs to other systems or to the FS3410 itself.

Databricks Unveils Open AI Security Monitoring 'Lakewatch'
Databricks entered the security market on March 24 by unveiling LakeWatch, an open-source agentic SIEM. The core functionality of this product is to integrate and analyze security, IT, and business data in a single environment to support AI-based threat detection and investigation.
