Samsung Electronics achieved its best-ever second-quarter performance, posting solid results in the second quarter of 2022 that surpassed sales of the same period last year by more than 20%.

Samsung Electronics announced its preliminary business results for the second quarter of 2022 on the 7th.

On a consolidated basis, sales recorded 77 trillion won, an increase of 20.9% compared to the same period last year, and operating profit was 14 trillion won, an increase of 11.4% compared to the same period last year.

Regarding these results, Do Hyun-woo, an analyst at NH Investment & Securities, analyzed that the growth compared to last year is attributed to increased semiconductor shipments and rising NAND prices, while the display business is expected to see a decline due to customers entering the off-season, and the MX and CE businesses are likely to be affected by the economic slowdown caused by recent global interest rate hikes and the war in Europe.
