LG Electronics announced on the 14th that it is launching the 'LG UltraPC Edge' laptop, which emphasizes a differentiated design and convenient portability.

The LG UltraPC Edge features a slim design with a thickness of 16.7 millimeters at its thickest point (based on a WQXGA resolution panel) and right-angled corners, and the exterior of the product is finished with a charcoal gray metal material.

The new products come in 16-inch and 14-inch sizes, and to allow for a larger screen experience, the screen sizes of the existing Ultra PC notebooks—specifically the 15.6-inch (39.6cm) and 13.3-inch (33.7cm) models—have been increased to 16 inches and 14 inches, respectively, by reducing the bezels while maintaining the overall dimensions.

The flagship 16-inch model is equipped with a large-capacity 72 watt-hour (Wh) battery and weighs approximately 1,470 grams (based on a WQXGA resolution panel), with LG Electronics emphasizing portability relative to performance. This product features a high-resolution WQXGA (2,560×1,600) IPS display with a 16:10 aspect ratio. The panel features an anti-glare finish that reduces light reflection and glare.

In addition, LG Electronics explained that by equipping it with AMD's latest Ryzen Barcelo processor, it provides a comfortable working environment even during light video editing or large-capacity document tasks.

Security has also been enhanced when using the product in external spaces by supporting Mirametrix (LG Glance by Mirametrix®) features based on face and gaze detection technology, which lock the screen when the user leaves their seat and dim the screen or display a warning message if there is another person behind the user.

LG Electronics began sales of the 16-inch LG UltraPC Edge model on the 15th, and plans to sequentially release the 14-inch model next month. Depending on product specifications, the shipping price is reportedly between 1.09 million won and 1.9 million won for the 16-inch model, and between 1.04 million won and 1.6 million won for the 14-inch model.
