NXP Semiconductors and Foxconn have joined hands to develop a next-generation vehicle platform.

NXP announced on the 21st that it has signed an MOU with Foxconn and plans to develop innovative architectures and platforms for electrification, connectivity, and safe autonomous driving by leveraging NXP’s long-standing expertise in safety and security and its automotive technology portfolio.

This collaboration extends the existing digital cockpit partnership based on NXP i.MX application processors and NXP software-defined radio platforms.

The key to the expansion of collaboration lies in Foxconn's efforts toward electric vehicle (EV) platforms that leverage NXP's system expertise and comprehensive electrification portfolio, ranging from NXP S32 processors to analog front-ends, drivers, networking, and power products.

The second key is to develop connectivity solutions using the latest NXPS32 domain and zone controller family for gateway and vehicle networking control, while simultaneously enhancing secure car access with Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) and Ultra-Wideband (UWB).

Finally, the third key is safe autonomous driving enhanced by NXP's leading radar solutions.

In addition to this, NXP hardware software It will also provide support and leverage extensive third-party ecosystem expertise in the fields of electrification, connectivity, and automation.
