Tektronix is expanding its domestic market presence with its newly released oscilloscope, the '2 Series MSO,' which maintains existing performance while offering enhanced convenience, including portability and usability.

On the 26th, Tektronix held a media conference at COEX and presented and demonstrated its new product, the '2 Series MSO'. This symposium, held for the first time in four years, consisted of sessions such as: △Introduction of the 2 Series MSO, presentation of Tektronix's global market performance and vision, and △Product Demonstration.

Tektronix CEO Baek Nam-joo introduced the new oscilloscope product, the '2 Series MSO', and expressed his ambition to take the next step forward and lead the industry.

CEO Baek said that Tektronix's strategy for the Korean market is to open a center in Daegu in September, adding, "We will expand the area where we meet users directly and increase the number of demo points."

He also mentioned plans for digital marketing, including EC & PR and seminars; providing integrated solutions encompassing hardware, software, and services; and announcing three to four new products over the next five years, including the second half of this year. CEO Baek stated, "Tektronix will transform into a company that can grow alongside its customers and continue to expand its reach."

While existing oscilloscopes were limited to the installed workspace due to their size limitations, the new Tektronix '2 Series MSO' is compact in size and can be moved to the desired measurement site and used without being restricted by workspace.

In particular, it is expected to simplify the measurement workflow as it weighs only 1.8 kg despite being 34 cm wide, 21 cm high, and 38 mm thick and equipped with a 10.1-inch touchscreen, allowing the scope to be carried around in a small backpack.

The touch interface of the existing product has been inherited, and intuitiveness has been enhanced with LED indicator lights around the knob. It supports bandwidths up to 500MHz, and support for 16 digital channels, which will be equipped with differentiated features from existing ones, is scheduled for a future update.

Optionally, an arbitrary function generator (AFG), pattern generator, voltmeter, and frequency counter can be added, maximizing the versatility of a single device. Battery life is up to eight hours. Battery life is currently unknown.

Tektronix's 'TekDrive' supports cloud services to manage and share measurement files, making backup easy and enabling remote work and collaboration.
At the '2 Series MSO' product demonstration, the functions were demonstrated by directly connecting a PC and an oscilloscope. Tektronix officials also explained the intuitive touch display, 36 automatic measurement functions, and decoding functions.

A Tektronix representative added, "While there have been portable oscilloscopes in the past with limited functionality, the '2 Series MSO' is a new oscilloscope that offers all the features and uses a mid-sized oscilloscope UI that no other company has." He added, "It allows for advanced analysis of abnormal signals and other operations all within a slim scope."

CEO Baek said, "There was an inconvenience in that problems discovered in test sites, including the electric vehicle market, could not be immediately analyzed and had to be moved to another location, and there has always been a demand for portable equipment." He added, "Tektronix's new oscilloscope has the advantage that users can use it comfortably from their desks and collaborate with team members."

Finally, he added, "Tektronix is growing at a rate of 40% annually and is expanding its core industries to include semiconductor wafer testing and the sensor market, including Keithley, which it acquired."
