Security and IT departments can reduce the attack surface and strengthen their security posture by using a single console that integrates into existing infrastructure to gain consistent and unified visibility into all workloads running across AWS, VMware Cloud, and on-premises.

VMware unveiled 'VMware Carbon Black Workload for AWS' on the 5th, specialized for protecting existing and modern workloads for Amazon Web Services (AWS) customers.

The security team stated that VMware Carbon Black Workload for AWS allows them to view even transient and short-term workloads at a glance, providing reliable contextual information. They noted that this enables AWS customers to protect modern applications more securely. In addition, by automating vulnerability collection and listing, threats can be identified, workload protection strengthened, and the attack surface reduced.

For sensor deployments, agent lifecycle management can be simplified through the CI/CD (Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment) packages provided by VMware Carbon Black Workload for AWS. Additionally, AWS customers logged in with an AWS account can gain more complete, comprehensive, and in-depth visibility even as workloads scale up following the initial deployment of VMware Carbon Black Workload sensors.

VMware Carbon Black Workload for AWS combines essential vulnerability assessment and workload hardening with next-generation antivirus (NGAV) to analyze patterns of attack behavior over time, enabling it to block even entirely new types of attacks. By performing enterprise threat remediation, including behavior-based EDR (Endpoint Detection and Response), across the entire workload, AWS customers transform threat intelligence into preventive policies and improve the error of deleting duplicate threats.

The remote data obtained through this is provided to VMware Contexa, a complete threat intelligence cloud, which reduces the gap between attackers and defenders while improving visibility, control, and anomaly detection capabilities for workloads.
