SKT-TMap Mobility-Transportation Institute Discuss UAM Cooperation
SK Telecom and Korea Transportation Institute held a UAM cooperation seminar, establishing the foundation for cooperation toward Korean UAM commercialization.
SK Telecom announced it held a seminar on AI and big data-based UAM cooperation with the Korea Transportation Institute on the 11th. The seminar, held at the Korea Transportation Institute in Sejong City, was attended by key executives including SKT CEO Young Sang Yoo, Korea Transportation Institute President Jae Hak Oh, and TMap Mobility CEO Jong Ho Lee.
SKT and the Transportation Institute have been conducting joint research for UAM commercialization following a cooperation seminar led by representatives from both sides in early this year to lead the UAM industry.
Additionally, through activities of the 'K-UAM Dream Team Consortium' (SKT Consortium), they are continuing business collaboration, including signing business agreements for the launch of tourism and public service routes in 2025.
SKT and Korea Transportation Institute stated that amid growing social interest in UAM, they plan to establish the foundation for commercialization through specialized research in terms of data consistency and analysis technology.
SKT CEO Young Sang Yoo stated, "Based on SKT's ICT technology such as AI and big data, we hope to expand cooperation with Korea Transportation Institute for Korean UAM commercialization."

UAM industry is anticipated as a massive market with potential stemming from linkages across diverse sectors, and experts have reached consensus that national leadership and joint research and development participation from industry, academia, and research institutions are essential for pioneering the new UAM market.
