Hyundai Motor, "Will Continuously Invest in and Support Promising Startups"
BOS Semiconductor, “Aiming to Grow into a Global Fabless Company Based on System Semiconductors”

Hyundai Motor Group is investing in the fabless startup Bose Semiconductor with the goal of developing semiconductors optimized for new vehicles through cooperation with various semiconductor companies.

Hyundai Motor Group announced on the 24th that it has decided to invest in Bose Semiconductor, a vehicle semiconductor startup, and expects synergy in the future automotive semiconductor sector.

Bose Semiconductor is a fabless startup that designs and develops system semiconductors optimized for the automotive software and requirements of its customers.

Bose Semiconductor was established this year and aims to grow into a global-level fabless company by developing system semiconductors based on technologies essential for automotive semiconductors, such as high-performance, low-power semiconductor design, CPUs and graphics, and high-speed signal interfaces.

Hyundai Motor Group plans to leverage this investment to comprehensively review technologies related to optimized automotive semiconductors required for new vehicles and pursue cooperation with various semiconductor companies to develop competitive automotive semiconductors.

This investment is by Hyundai Motor Group It was conducted at the 2nd fund of ZERO1NE, an open innovation platform established for startup investment.

Zero One Fund No. 2 is a fund established last February with contributions from Hyundai Motor Group affiliates and partners, including Hyundai Motor, Kia, and Hyundai Motor Securities, and with the participation of Korea Development Bank and Shinhan Bank as investors.

Zero One Fund No. 2 is actively working to expand the related ecosystem by investing in startups in new future businesses, including future mobility, eco-friendly vehicles, AI, and connected cars.

Ji Young-jo, President of Innovation at Hyundai Motor Group, stated, “We expect Bose Semiconductor to become one of the key puzzle pieces in Hyundai Motor Group’s future automotive semiconductor strategy,” adding, “We will continue our cooperation with Bose Semiconductor while also investing in and supporting other promising startups.”
