Western Digital (WD) announced on the 6th that it is launching the new 'PRO-BLADE' lineup of its premium professional storage solution brand 'SanDisk Professional' in Korea.

The new lineup introduced in Korea consists of three models: the PRO-BLADE SSD Mag, PRO-BLADE TRANSPORT, and PRO-BLADE STATION. With this launch, WD is expected to provide solutions to domestic content production professionals in various fields, ranging from film production to outdoor project video shooting.

WD highlighted easy capacity expansion and excellent portability through a new detachable design as key features of the new Pro Blade product family. The company emphasized that terabyte-class storage devices can be easily carried by easily installing and replacing 'Pro Blade SSD Mac' SSD units within the 'Pro Blade Transport' portable SSD case and 'Pro Blade Station' desktop systems. Through the Pro Blade lineup, which supports not only storage capacity expansion but also powerful convenience, users save time on location and in the studio and assist with overall workflow management.

The Pro Blade SSD Mac is a flexible NVMe SSD storage device that enables the storage capacity expansion users need in both studios and the field. When mounted inside the Pro Blade Transport, it functions as a powerful portable SSD, and by attaching up to four Pro Blade SSD Macs to a Pro Blade Station, versatile media workflows can be established. Capable of withstanding drops from up to 3 meters and pressures of up to 4,000 pounds, the Pro Blade SSD Mac demonstrates rugged durability for use on the go, regardless of location.

The Pro Blade Transport is a premium modular portable SSD case that allows the Pro Blade SSD Mac to be mounted on the USB Type-C (20Gbps) Pro Blade Transport for read and write speeds of up to 2,000MB/s. Users can easily attach and detach the Pro Blade SSD Mac, enabling them to carry terabyte-class storage capacity in a small volume. Additionally, by connecting the Pro Blade Transport to a USB Type-C compatible camera rig, you can record high-quality footage directly onto the internally mounted Pro Blade SSD Mac, and seamless continuous recording is possible when switching between Pro Blade SSD Macs.

The Pro Blade Station desktop system supports Thunderbolt SSD devices for professionals who want to quickly ingest, copy, and edit content, by allowing the simultaneous installation of up to four Pro Blade Mac SSDs. Using a 40Gbps Thunderbolt 3 interface, the Pro Blade Station can offload up to four high-capacity Pro Blade SSD Macs at once, enabling real-time 4K, 8K, and 12K video editing as well as copying tasks. Through the Pro Blade Station, professionals can unleash their creativity by hosting workloads within a scalable, modular SSD workstation.
