Huawei held 'Huawei Connect 2022,' an annual event in the global ICT industry, in Bangkok on the 19th.

The theme of this event, marking its 7th year, is 'Unlease Digital,' and it provides a platform for over 10,000 global ICT industry leaders, experts, and partners to explore ways to effectively improve digital productivity, promote the digital economy, and build a stronger digital ecosystem.

Huawei Connect 2022, held for three days in Bangkok, is part of a global tour that begins in Thailand and proceeds to various locations around the world. The Bangkok event consists of keynote sessions, a summit, breakouts, and demo sessions. This presentation introduces the challenges faced by governments and enterprises in their digital transformation journey, the development of digital infrastructure, and Huawei's latest cloud services and partner ecosystem.

In addition, Huawei will share the measures it is taking to advance digital development across a wide range of industries and will introduce more than 15 new cloud services.

■ 3 Initiatives to Support the Digitalization of All Industries

Over the past two years, anxiety surrounding the industrial sector has intensified due to the global economic downturn, including the COVID-19 pandemic, global supply chain instability, and inflation. Meanwhile, platform markets and cloud technologies have grown steadily, demonstrating brilliant growth in the digital economy worldwide. As a result, many organizations are embarking on operational and service offering innovations through next-generation digital technologies.

Ken Hu, Huawei's Rotating Chairman, delivered a keynote speech on three ways the ICT ecosystem can help overcome common barriers to digital transformation.

He explained that, first, it is necessary to strengthen digital infrastructure, including more robust connectivity and powerful, diverse computing resources; and that support must be provided to enable organizations to fully utilize the cloud beyond simple adoption, with a focus on advanced technology services that drive rapid development. He also stated that building a regional digital ecosystem is necessary, including partner development, strengthening the digital talent pool, and expanding support for small and medium-sized enterprises.

■ Huawei Cloud Announces Establishment of Indonesia Region and Launches Over 15 New Services

At the event, Huawei Cloud CEO Zhang Ping'an announced the establishment of new Huawei Cloud regions in Indonesia and Ireland. Huawei Cloud plans to operate 75 availability zones across 29 regions worldwide by the end of 2022, enabling services in over 170 countries and regions.

In accordance with the plan, Huawei Cloud and its partners are launching the 'Cloud to the World' ecosystem plan. It was announced that this plan, focused on Everything as a Service (XaaS), was designed to accelerate the development of the global digital industry ecosystem.

Huawei is focusing on building a cloud platform centered on XaaS. Jacqueline Shi, President of Huawei Cloud Global Marketing and Sales Services, announced the global launch of approximately 15 new services, including Huawei Cloud CCE Turbo, UCS (Ubiquitous Cloud Native Service), Pangu Wave Model, DataArts LakeFormation, Virtual Live, Code Check and Cloud Test, KooMessage, KooSearch, and KooGallery.

Meanwhile, at the event, Huawei emphasized that the government and companies must cooperate more closely to foster the regional digital ecosystem, including building innovation partners, strengthening talent resources, and supporting startups, and reaffirmed its commitment to open collaboration and mutual success.
