Park Young-seok, Chairman of MTIG, was recognized for his contribution to the advancement of the domestic materials and parts industry through the localization of titanium.


MTI announced that Chairman Park Young-seok won the Korea National Grand Prize in the corporate management category at the '2022 Korea National Grand Prize' awards ceremony, hosted by the Korea National Grand Prize Committee and organized by the Korea National Movement Headquarters, held at the Korea Press Center on September 27.

The Grand Prize for the People of Korea, now in its 12th year, is awarded to Korean citizens who have worked for change, innovation, and growth in Korea and have contributed to raising the status and national prestige of Korea in various fields including politics, society, economy, and culture.

On this day, 26 people, including Chairman Park Young-seok, received the Grand Prize of the Republic of Korea.

Chairman Park Young-seok founded MTIG in 2006 and contributed to the domestic materials and parts industry by developing technology to mass-produce titanium, an essential material for domestic industries, through a powder injection molding process.

In 2008, it also received the New Excellent Technology (NET) mark from the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy for its titanium powder injection molding process.

In particular, titanium is more expensive than ordinary iron during the smelting process, so it is produced domestically.We use more imported products from overseas, such as China, than from domestically produced ones.

On the other hand, MTIIG is evaluated as a company that led the popularization of domestic titanium materials by being able to supply titanium powder in large quantities at low cost through the powder injection molding process.

MTIG produces and supplies various products, including electronic components, tools, cosmetics, accessories, and dental implants, using titanium powder produced in this way.

In addition, MTI recently completed facility maintenance by introducing plasma equipment, a large mixer for hydrogenation heat treatment, an automatic product alignment machine, and an automatic sorting machine to the Hwaseong plant, and is now manufacturing high-quality titanium powder.

In addition, we are developing technology to recycle tantalum scrap and are developing products and parts using recycled materials to maximize the added value of the materials.
