Vertiv, a company specializing in core digital infrastructure and continuity solutions, has launched a new signal extender that provides 1080p high-definition video with ultra-fast switching capabilities.

Vertiv announced the release of the Vertiv™ Avocent® HMX 3080/4080 series, an IP-based signal extender that enables users to remotely transmit DVI video, audio, USB, and RS232 signals over a Gigabit network.

The Vertiv Avocent HMX 3080/4080 series belongs to Vertiv's high-performance IP-based KVM product family.

The following characteristics have been improved from the existing Avocent® HMX 1080/2080 series.

First, since a unique IP address is assigned to each device consisting of a transmitter and a receiver, it helps mitigate KVM transmission loss.

In addition, the desktop-based Avocent HMX 3080/4080 offers various connection options. The receiver and transmitter can be directly connected using CATx and optical cables. Using an integrated network port allows you to connect a single transmitter to multiple receivers or vice versa, and enables connection redundancy.

In addition, through an IP matrix architecture that supports sufficient bandwidth and network switch ports, up to 65,000 receivers can be supported on the same network.

In addition, all receiving terminals in the network can automatically detect and configure all devices in the network.

The Avocent HMX 3080/4080 is ideal for building control rooms in broadcasting, emergency management, industrial, and energy sectors that require high-definition (HD) video and high-quality audio.
