Korea Electronics Show (KES 2022), the largest electronics and IT industry exhibition in Korea, opened and received a great response from many visitors.

The 53rd Korea Electronics Show, hosted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, was held at COEX from Tuesday the 4th to Friday the 7th. This exhibition featured 1,200 booths from 450 companies, and was expected to attract approximately 70,000 visitors.

The main exhibition items include: △Home appliances and smart homes △Electronic components and materials (electronic components, semiconductors, displays, sensors, etc.) △New convergence industries (XR, 3D, wearables, blockchain, security devices) △Tech solutions (production and manufacturing technology, AI, robots, IoT, big data, deep learning, communications, smart cities).

The Korea Electronics Show, which had been slowed down for the past two years due to COVID-19, attracted a large number of visitors this year, providing an opportunity to acquire the latest information and technologies through various experience zones, seminars, conferences, and other events.

Leading domestic electronics companies like Samsung and LG expanded their home appliance and smart home lineups, showcasing the convergence of home appliances and space. Samsung Electronics showcased the Bespoke Jetbot AI+, featuring 3D sensors and AI autonomous driving technology, while LG Electronics showcased the Mood Up, an object collection with LED panels that allows users to freely change the exterior color, and a new concept table-top air purifier. Various events and participation zones were also held at the booths for visitors.

In addition, the home appliance and smart home section showcased innovative home appliances that caught the attention of consumers, including Foret's carbon-reducing food waste disposer, Sonic Dutch Korea's cold brew machine, Jerema's AI smart pillow, and Emma Healthcare's smart baby bed.

In addition, partners of the SME and startup support platforms 'IBK Changgong (20 companies)' and 'Samsung C-Lab (10 companies)' also participated and showcased cutting-edge and innovative products. Among them, 'Hyunseong Co., Ltd.' presented solutions capable of environmental sensing such as temperature and humidity, dust, etc., such as AI patrol and rail robot, as well as rail robots capable of safety management and rapid accident response in case of accident.

The Electronic Components and Materials Hall featured a large number of companies specializing in electronic components, semiconductors, sensors, displays, materials, and equipment. Domestic electronic components distributors such as Gilanix, Arrow Electronics, and Analog World showcased ADI solutions. Mouser, a distributor with a wide selection of the latest semiconductors and electronic components in stock, also participated, showcasing a variety of information and tools for engineers.
The Korea Electronics Show (KES) featured its first-ever special ESG pavilion, highlighting emerging ESG trends such as carbon neutrality, the circular economy, and social value creation. Coway showcased Korea's first waterless testing system, designed to develop eco-friendly products, enhance efficiency, and conserve water resources.

The Mobility Pavilion showcased the expansiveness of mobility concepts, extending to future vehicles, aviation, and space, as the commercialization of fully autonomous driving technology progresses. Autonomous A2Z hosted a Cockpit experience event, featuring remote-controlled driving technology, while Mobiltech's Replica City utilizes digital twin technology (HD maps) to update constantly evolving roads.

Interest in wireless charging technology for electric vehicles is growing. The electric vehicle charging robot technology unveiled by KETI utilizes autonomous and collaborative robots to charge electric vehicles unmanned in indoor and outdoor parking lots. An official stated, "Although the technology has not yet been verified due to legal issues, we are currently pursuing commercialization in some areas, and ETRI plans to develop a wireless charging feature that will be included in the development."

The Gyeongbuk Technopark and the Korea Information and Communications Technology Association's Wireless Charging R&D Support Center booth showcased projects related to the Gyeongbuk Electric Vehicle Wireless Charging Regulatory Free Zone. Demonstrations of high-power wireless charging at gas stations are expected to secure next-generation wireless charging technology and lead the market.

Meanwhile, Metaverse Korea, Samsung Biz Expo, Innovation Industry Fair, and Semiconductor Fair will be held concurrently during the event. The "Metaverse Korea" exhibition showcased a reality where the real and virtual worlds merge, interacting through communication platforms.

Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI) demonstrated a VR aircraft simulator featuring the latest mobility technology using pilot training equipment developed in-house. Maver has commercialized the metaverse by integrating non-wearable devices with the metaverse and installing metaverse patented modules on various devices such as tablets, POS, kiosks, and screens.
