KETI kicks off the Mobius Developer Competition

IoT technology competition utilizing open-source Mobius
A fierce two-month competition to determine the best IoT technology has begun using the Mobius platform developed by the Korea Electronics Technology Institute (KETI).
KETI held the kickoff meeting for the 6th Mobius International Developer Conference online on October 4th.
The 6th Mobius International Developer Conference is hosted by KETI and sponsored by the Ministry of Science and ICT, the Korea Intelligent Internet of Things Association, the Korea Internet of Things Society, and the Korea Information and Communications Technology Association.
The competition will be held using Mobius, an open source IoT platform developed by KETI based on the international standard oneM2M. Participants will submit application service ideas, develop actual services over approximately two months, post them to the online developer community, and compete for the winner through presentations, demonstrations, and evaluations.
At this kick-off meeting, a total of 18 teams, including 5 domestic teams and 13 overseas teams selected through the idea contest, participated. The meeting provided information on the competition plan, IoT-related information, and introductions of each participating team.
The competition will be held online in OctoberWe plan to provide training on application service development and expert technical support for application service development, and provide expert support for interim inspections and technical difficulties in early November.
The development results will be announced and final evaluation will be conducted between November 21st and November 25th.
The awards ceremony will be held on November 28th to select and award the best team.
Shin Hee-dong, the director of KETI, which is hosting this year's Mobius International Developer Competition, said, "IoT technology is a field that can improve the quality of life through international standards more than any other field, and its possibilities are increasing through the construction of a hyper-connected network and the intelligence of devices due to the development of communication technologies including 5G." He continued, "Through the Mobius Competition, which has been expanded into an international competition since last year, we are expanding the value of the IoT platform through convergence with new technologies such as various web and mobile application services, big data, and artificial intelligence."
He also said, “I hope that this competition will be a festival where the participating teams can learn and grow from each other through effort and team exchanges.”

KETI Holds Mobius 2.0 IoT Service Excellence Awards Ceremony
The first KETI Mobius 2.0 IoT Service Developer Competition, which began last July, has come to a close. KETI held an awards ceremony on the 27th after conducting final judging for 13 teams that advanced to the finals and presenting prizes for outstanding works. Mobius, developed by KETI, is the world's first open-source IoT platform developed based on oneM2M, a representative IoT standard. KETI is building a global IoT ecosystem with Mobius.
The Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute (KETI) announced on the 27th that it is leading the creation of an IoT ecosystem by developing "Mobius," a global standard IoT platform with government support, and supporting domestic companies' technology development and commercialization through open source policies and IoT Open Lab operations. Mobius is a domestic IoT platform capable of compatibility with various other standard technologies and was developed with government support. In particular, Mobius is the world's first open source IoT platform developed based on oneM2M, the global Internet of Things standard, and △leads international standardization through continuous oneM2M standardization activities, and △has secured world-class compatibility through various global compatibility tests including OCF standards and non-standard devices. Ecolab and K-water Discuss Innovation Collaboration in Advanced Industry Water Management
