ETRI Publishes Comic Book '2035 Future World'

Domestic researchers have republished the 'Technology Development Map 2035,' which derived the National Intelligence Plan in 2020, in an easy and fun comic book format.
The Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute (ETRI) announced that it has published a comic book titled "Creating the Future World of 2035 Together," which depicts the future world of 2035, and will make it available both online and offline.
'Creating the Future World of 2035 Together' was planned as a comic book to introduce the future world 15 years from now presented by ETRI in an easy and fun way.
It appears that this will be particularly beneficial to youth by explaining new conceptual forms, such as future ICT products or services, necessary to realize national intelligence.
The first part of the book covers new conceptual forms in a total of 18 sectors in the section on the intelligence of individuals, society, industry, and the public.
It consists of a digital personal assistant, a second body—an exoskin—an environment-aware production farm, and an AI military staff.
In the latter part, six topics that have recently become social issues were explained in an easy-to-understand manner.
It contains content that new conceptual forms, such as global warming, climate change, and new drug development and vaccine research, can be utilized to solve major social problems.
Meanwhile, ETRI [has] a new concept shape to be utilized in the future world of 2035 The report 'Road to an Intelligent Information Society: Technology Development Map 2035,' developed over three years with the participation of internal and external experts, has been released on the research institute's website.
In particular, the episode 'ETRI’s Vision of the Future 2035 - Technology Development Map' created via YouTube using computer graphics in Korean and English is gaining great popularity.
Through this, it indirectly shows the future society to the youth, who are the future leaders.
ETRI President Kim Myung-joon stated, “Many researchers participated in deliberation and incorporated their imagination to create this new conceptual design. We decided to publish this comic book because it is important to widely share this vision of the future with the public to build a bright future for our country.”
The comic will be produced as a booklet and distributed to national and public libraries and educational institutions, and it will also be available for download as an e-book on the ETRI website.

Ecolab Expands AI Data Center Cooling Business Through Acquisition of CoolIT
Ecolab has agreed to acquire CoolIT Systems, a liquid cooling company for AI data centers, for approximately $4.75 billion. The transaction is expected to close by Q3 2026, subject to regulatory approvals. CoolIT has been supplying direct-to-chip cooling-based coolant distribution units, cold plates, and manifolds, serving hyperscale data centers and colocation operators as customers. This acquisition is a measure to address the high-heat and high-density server environments created by AI proliferation. Ecolab plans to combine its water management and digital monitoring capabilities with CoolIT's hardware technology to expand its data center cooling business.
