STMicroelectronics (hereinafter ST) announced on the 27th that it has established an STM32 Hotspot organization on GitHub.

Here, community members can find embedded software projects developed by experts for STM32 microcontrollers.

STM32 Hotspot contains non-product code created by ST in-house engineers, originally written for purposes such as demo demonstrations and proof-of-concept models.

These code examples are generally not disclosed outside of ST.

STM32 Hotspot enables the broader developer community to utilize these code examples, along with the vast amount of STM32 reference code already in use by customers, to provide more added value.

By accessing the trusted ST-owned GitHub organization, users are guaranteed the reliability of the software.

Projects in STM32 hotspots derived from actual application cases rapidly develop common required functions and engineering laborIt helps reduce power and overall time to market.

The code is available for free download and can be distributed under ST's standard business-friendly license terms to enable direct integration into customer applications.

STM32 Hotspot operates in conjunction with ST’s main GitHub organization, which provides access to all official STM32 open source software, including the STM32Cube platform and STM32MPU embedded software distributions.

Through two communities, it supports all users of over 1,200 microcontroller products in the STM32 family based on Arm® Cortex®-M embedded cores and Cortex-A7 MPU cores.
