SEMI, the industry association representing the global electronics industry, is working with global semiconductor companies to reduce greenhouse gas emissions across the supply chain.


SEMI announced on the 12th that it recently established the Semiconductor Climate Consortium.

This consortium is the first global organization in the semiconductor ecosystem, with more than 60 companies participating as founding members.

Domestic companies participating include Dongjin Semichem, Samsung Electronics, and SK Hynix.

Consortium members collaborate on common approaches, technological innovations, and communication channels to continuously reduce greenhouse gas emissions. They report annually on progress and Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions. They also set short-term and long-term goals, aiming to achieve net zero by 2050.

The founding members of the Semiconductor Climate Consortium support the Paris Agreement and agree on the need to proactively address climate change within the semiconductor supply chain.

Additionally, the Semiconductor Climate Consortium will attend COP27 in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt, from November 8th to 10th, where it will present its launch. For more information about attending the session and SCC, please contact SCC@semi.org.
