SKT Vice Chairman Park Jung-ho: "A Forum for Exchanging SKT Technology Insights"

SK Group brings together its full range of ICT capabilities to share insights for creating a cleaner, healthier, and safer world.

SK Group announced that it will hold the '2022 SK Tech Summit' at the Walkerhill Hotel in Gwangjin-gu, Seoul, on the 8th and 9th. This event is the first offline-centered event since COVID-19, with 17 SK Group companies participating to showcase 127 technologies across 10 fields, including AI, semiconductors, cloud, and security.

This event, marking its 7th year, opened with a welcoming speech by SKT CEO Yoo Young-sang introducing SK Group's vision, which focuses on next-generation internet, semiconductors, and infrastructure.

In his welcoming remarks, SKT Vice Chairman Park Jeong-ho stated that the Tech Summit was "a venue to share insights on technology and introduce SK's technology," and expressed his hope that attendees would take an interest in the future technologies SKT is pursuing, such as 'A.dot' and quantum cryptography, amidst the transition to a mobile environment.

Following this, Lee Jong-min, Head of Future R&D at SKT, introduced SKT's AI solutions during the keynote session under the theme of a better future created by SK Group's technology.

This person introduced each technology under the themes of a clean world, a healthy world, and a safe world.

AI-based telecommunications building cooling optimization technology establishes an energy-efficient telecommunications foundation and enables infrastructure operation. In addition, 5.2 million disposable plastic cups were saved through Happy Habit, which promotes resource recycling and was utilized at event venues.

SKT has formed a consortium to conduct demonstrations for the commercialization of UAM, an eco-friendly future mode of transportation, and is participating as an air traffic control partner.

In addition, AI disinfection robots and the AI pet diagnostic program Excalibur were introduced. The AI camera is provided at a commercial level, making decisions with high accuracy through the application of SKT's video analysis and AI technology, object attribute classification, situation analysis, and facial recognition.

In his presentation on AutoML, Group Leader Cha Ji-won discussed technologies for horizontal and vertical expansion in accordance with the necessity of AutoML and its expanding scope of application.

Ki-Wan Kim, General Solutions Architect at AWS, gave a presentation on Amazon's future strategy as an external speaker. Kim stated, "Amazon has conducted research and development by starting its thinking with a customer-centric approach."

Esti Cheng, a Google technology partner, introduced Google's technological capabilities for sustainability as the Executive Director of Sustainability. Almost all services supported for Google's sustainability are also supported in Korea.

Meanwhile, the 2022 SKT Tech Summit is primarily offline, but the conference can also be attended online and is divided into technology or business tracks. Various experiences, such as UAM VR, are available at the on-site booths, and a diverse networking venue is also provided, ranging from gatherings for developers to on-site mentoring for university students and recruitment booths.
