SK Materials, a material technology specialist, looked back on its achievements in various fields including ESG this year together with 37 member companies of the Joint Growth Council and expanded the culture of joint growth.

SK Materials held the 2022 Joint Growth Council meeting with its member companies at Grand Seoul in Jongno-gu on the 18th.

The Joint Growth Council was launched in 2020 to support partners in various areas such as education, business management, and recruitment, and to identify and implement various tasks for improving ESG, thereby enhancing mutual competitiveness between the company and its partners. It is still in operation today.

The council is comprised of a total of 37 affiliated companies of SK Materials, including SK Specialty, SK Materials Airplus, SK Materials Performance, and SK Trichem.

The meeting was held on this day to review the progress of the Joint Growth Council over the course of 2022 and share plans for next year.

first We looked back on the introduction of ESG diagnosis process for partners using IT platforms and ESG consulting in conjunction with external expert agencies, and also highlighted efforts to reduce greenhouse gases, water, and waste through the newly established ECO (Environment) subcommittee.

We also had time to review various activities in each field, such as management support, SHE, and quality, that match each member company type.

Next, during the announcement of the 2023 Joint Growth Council operation goals, the three major axes of key tasks were explained: △ expanding the ESG diagnosis target to more partners, △ strengthening the supply chain greenhouse gas emission management system, and △ strengthening supply chain ESG monitoring such as minerals and human rights.

To motivate members to achieve such challenging goals, a new ESG Symbiotic Loan Program has been established that provides interest of up to 2% on a loan limit of KRW 1 billion for member companies with excellent ESG diagnosis results.

At the Best Member Company Awards Ceremony, Jeil E&S and Ether City were selected as winners in consideration of their performance in participating in ESG diagnosis and improvement in 2022, their contribution to establishing a culture of shared growth, and their cooperation in environmental tasks such as greenhouse gas reduction.

Kimchiyeon Jeil E&S CEO said, “I would like to thank the SK Specialty officials for giving us this honorable award,” and added, “We will continue to work hard to establish a win-win culture in which we pursue value together without forgetting the important essence of mutual growth.”
