Hilscher IO-Link Technology Provides Technology for IO-Link and Remote I/O

Hillshire has unveiled a new CI, new products and technologies, signaling its commitment to establishing itself as an industry leader.

On the 23rd, Hillshire held a press conference at the InterContinental Seoul COEX Hotel to announce new technologies for 2023.

This meeting was attended by Martin Volkmar, Asia Pacific Sales Manager, and Won Il-min, Country Manager of Hillshire Korea, who held a meeting on the topic of 'Hillshire, Launch of New CI and Announcement of New Technologies in 2023.'

At the event, Hillscher unveiled a new CI that signifies innovation and connectivity.

Through the new CI, Hillscher emphasized that Hillscher, which has contributed to the development of industrial connectivity by creating reliable and innovative products for over 35 years, will establish itself as an industry leader.

Martin Borgmar, Manager, highlighted Hilscher's strengths as: △high-performance industrial communication technology based on a stable system; △drive to implement and ensure safe and smooth industrial communication.

Hilscher's products that reflect these advantages include netRAPID 90 and the industrial communication M.2 format.

netRAPID 90 is an ultra-compact multi-protocol module solution with a solder-only netX90 System-On-Module (SOM).

It is a scalable embedded platform that supports all industrial Ethernet, fieldbus, and IIoT protocol standards and comes with various memory options.

There are two types of industrial communication M.2 formats: cifX M.2 2230 (22mm x 30mm) and cifX M.2 3042 (30mm x 40mm), and they support 19 fieldbus and real-time Ethernet protocols through firmware.

Hilscher explains that the various IO-Link technologies can overcome the shortcomings of the existing automation pyramid, which is limited to communication at the existing IO level and complex field devices, and remote communication that cannot reach simple standard sensors.

For this purpose, Hilscher offers several technologies for IO-Link and remote I/O.

Representative features include an optimized technology platform, including netX, which supports network connectivity, and an intelligent 4-channel IO-Link transmitter and receiver.

Additionally, the next-generation wireless IO-Link technology reduces cable connections for automated robots and provides reliable data exchange with sensors with limited physical access.

What makes this possible is the new netFIELD device IO-Link wireless master.

As part of a collaboration with CoreTigo (Hilscher's technology partner), a specialist in high-availability wireless industrial communication solutions, we have developed a new way for equipment manufacturers and plant operators to easily transmit and use data generated during production in a flexible and reliable manner.

The IO-Link wireless master is based on the existing IO-Link standard according to IEC 61131-9 and can connect up to 16 sensors and actuators, twice as many as conventional wired IO-Link masters.
