Samsung Electronics has demonstrated its world-class information security and system operation capabilities by obtaining two international cloud-related standard certifications.

Samsung Electronics announced on the 1st that it has simultaneously acquired 'ISO 27001 (Information Security Management System)' and 'ISO 27017 (Cloud Service Information Security Management System)', which are established by the ISO (International Organization for Standardization) and certified by the BSI (Royal Standards Institute).

The MX division, which is responsible for mobile devices such as smartphones, has proven through this certification that the management system and information protection of its "Private Cloud," which it operates for services such as terminal software updates, are at the world's highest level.

ISO 27001 is one of the most authoritative certifications in the field of information security, and was established based on the 'Information Security Management System (BS7799)' standard defined by BSI in 1999.

To obtain this certification, 11 areas, including information security policy and access control, and 133 management standards must be met.

ISO 27017 can be obtained only when the cloud service environment and information security management are built and operated in accordance with international standards.

With this certification, Samsung Electronics has proven that its cloud operation capabilities and technology are world-class, and expects this to enhance its external credibility.

BSI (British Standards Institution), the world's first national standards setting organization) said, “In a rapidly growing business environment, the importance of cloud technology and information protection is increasing,” and “Through this evaluation, we have confirmed that Samsung Electronics’ private cloud system operation capabilities and security meet international standards.”
