Hanwha Systems (CEO Eoh Seong-cheol) installed ship combat systems and simulation training equipment for the Philippine Navy, solidifying friendship between Korea and the Philippines and contributing to the strengthening of friendly cooperation.

Hanwha Systems announced that it held a completion ceremony for the combat system training center for the Philippine Navy on the 1st.

The completion ceremony was held at the Naval Training Command in Zambales, Philippines, attended by Joselito B. Ramos, Acting Under Secretary for Acquisition and Assistant Secretary of State for the Philippines, and Renato P. David Key officials, including David, Commander of the Philippine Navy Education Command, and Kim Young-ho, Head of the Command and Control Business Division at Hanwha Systems, attended and graced the event.

When Hanwha Systems signed the contract for the performance upgrade of the combat system of the Philippine frigate (DPCF) in 2019, it promised to donate a Philippine Navy training center to further solidify its relationship with the Philippines and achieve mutual win-win cooperation.

The newly completed training center consists of a theory training room, an engine equipment room, a simulation training room, and a control room, and is scheduled to be equipped with various simulation training equipment, including Hanwha Systems' Combat Management System (CMS) simulation training equipment.

The Philippine Navy expects that being able to conduct training exercises on land using the training center's equipment, which previously required boarding ships, will contribute to more efficient training and the enhancement of the Navy's combat capabilities.

Eo Seong-cheol, CEO of Hanwha Systems, stated, “I hope the establishment of this training center will help strengthen friendship and friendly cooperation between the two countries,” adding, “We will not only successfully carry out the ongoing project with the Philippine Navy but also actively contribute to enhancing the Philippines’ maritime defense capabilities through continuous follow-up logistical support.”

Meanwhile, Hanwha Systems has supplied combat systems to approximately 80 vessels of the Republic of Korea Navy, including surface ships and submarines, and has been continuously upgrading performance to develop and mass-produce world-class naval combat systems.

Recognized for these technological capabilities, the company has been steadily expanding its exports, including supplying combat systems for the 2,600-ton Philippine Frigate (FF) combat system project in 2017, the Philippine Frigate (DPCF) combat system performance upgrade project in 2019, and the Philippine Corvette in 2022, and is further expanding its export reach to Southeast Asian and Middle Eastern countries.
