Lattice Semiconductor, a leader in low-power programmable solutions, is actively responding to expanding demand in communications, computing, industrial, and automotive markets by launching new high-performance field programmable gate arrays (FPGAs) that offer higher power efficiency than existing products and enable efficient design with smaller form factors.

Lattice held an online press conference on the 6th and announced its new FPGA platform, Lattice Avant™.

Lattice Avant delivers best-in-class power efficiency, advanced connectivity, and optimized compute performance to enable Lattice to address a broader set of customer applications in the communications, computing, industrial, and automotive markets.

At the press conference held that day, CEO Yoon Jang-seop and Vice President Lee Ki-hoon, who were in charge of the presentation, said that the Lattice Avant platform consumes up to 2.5 times less power than competing devices of the same class, enabling system and application engineers to improve power and thermal design efficiency.It was revealed that this can improve operating costs and enhance reliability.

It also supports data path applications by increasing bandwidth and reducing link and system cost and size while achieving up to two times faster throughput at lower power than comparable competitive devices, and it is up to six times smaller in package size than comparable competitive devices, enabling size-efficient system designs.

Along with this, it supports configurable SERDES up to 25Gbps, enhanced support for PCIe® Gen 4, high-performance I/O, and high-speed memory interfaces including LPDDR4 and DDR5. In addition to Lattice’s portfolio of application-specific solution stacks, it is supported by existing familiar Lattice software solutions including easy-to-use design tools, reference designs and SDKs, and an extensive IP portfolio, enabling customers to achieve more efficient design development and faster time to market.

The Lattice Avant platform features a scalable design architecture that enables rapid development of a wide range of new device families, starting with the Lattice AvantTM-E FPGA family launched today.

Lattice Avant-E FPGAs are designed to solve critical challenges at the edge by combining best-in-class power efficiency, size, and performance with a feature set optimized for the needs of edge applications such as data processing and artificial intelligence (AI).
