The Korea Electronics Technology Institute (KETI, President Shin Hee-dong) has launched the Industrial Digital Transformation Promotion Team and is driving a major industrial transformation through cooperation among 11 research centers under KETI.

KETI announced on the 8th that it has launched the 'Industrial Digital Transformation Promotion Team' (headed by Lee Gyu-bok) to strengthen the digital competitiveness of national industries.

The task force was joined by officials from 11 research centers affiliated with KETI (Nano Convergence, VR/AR, Content Application, Data Convergence Platform, Autonomous Intelligent IoT, Intelligent Convergence SW, Energy IT Convergence, Smart Manufacturing, Intelligent Robotics, IT Convergence Components, and ICT Convergence) and the Technology Policy Office, which is responsible for the institute's technology strategy.

The task force plans to consolidate research capabilities to identify and plan R&D initiatives aimed at leading the digital transformation of our industries, including the processing and utilization of industrial data and AI, virtual collaboration such as VR and AR, digital twins, intelligent robots, and advanced materials, components, and sensors.

Lee Kyu-bok, Vice President of KETI (Head of Senior Research Division) and Head of the Task Force, stated, “Recently, the government has also been making efforts to internalize various digital technologies into industry through measures such as the ‘Strategy for the Diffusion of Industrial Digital Transformation’ and the ‘Act on the Promotion of Industrial Digital Transformation.’” He added, “As the digital competitiveness of industry is expected to determine the nation’s future competitiveness, KETI stated, "We will also focus on R&D activities for the digital transformation of our industry."
