Dassault Systèmes' 3DEXPERIENCE platform is making a significant contribution to accelerating the development of hydrogen-powered aircraft.

Dassault Systèmes announced that Blue Spirit Aero, a France-based aerospace company leveraging hydrogen fuel cell technology, is using Dassault Systèmes' cloud-based 3DEXPERIENCE platform to accelerate the development of a hydrogen-electric light aircraft and achieve acceptable clean aircraft certification.

Blue Spirit Aero is developing the Dragonfly, an electric propulsion aircraft specialized in eco-friendliness, with the goal of certification and entry into service in 2026.

In just a few months, Blue Spirit Aero leveraged the Reinvent the Sky industry solution, powered by the 3DEXPERIENCE platform, to complete a detailed 3D design of the Dragonfly, testing and validating its aerodynamic and structural energy performance.

From the outset, Blue Spirit Aero's cloud-based virtual environment enabled it to structure internal processes and streamline cross-functional communication across disciplines and geographies, enabling more efficient decision-making and validation.
