With energy price instability, including gas prices, remaining unresolved due to the Russia-Ukraine war, a sense of crisis is escalating in Europe amidst concerns over the approaching winter cold wave. In a global climate where the demand for eco-friendly and energy-efficient heating and cooling is bound to rise, Samsung’s Eco Heating System is achieving significant growth.

Samsung Electronics' eco-friendly heating and cooling system, the 'EHS (Eco Heating System)' heat pump, is recording significant growth in the European market, which is facing an energy crisis. The EHS is an air conditioning system capable of providing underfloor heating and hot water by generating thermal energy through heat exchange between refrigerant and water in the indoor unit. It is attracting attention in Europe because it is more efficient than conventional fuel boilers and produces less carbon dioxide.

Samsung Electronics announced on the 19th that its European EHS sales from January to November of this year grew by more than double, reaching 118% compared to the same period last year, and that sales in Germany and France increased by 30 times and 10 times, respectively, through securing new distribution channels.

In particular, with the recent energy crisis in Europe, Samsung EHS is growing significantly as a substitute for conventional boilers among European consumers seeking relatively low heating costs and eco-friendly energy.

Samsung Electronics launched the 'EHS MONO HT Quiet' with high energy efficiency (Seasonal Coefficient of Performance, SCOP) in September of this year. This product is equipped with a 4-stage low-noise mode and features 'Turbo Flash Injection™' technology, a high-efficiency refrigerant injection method, allowing for stable heating and hot water use even on cold days.

In addition, Samsung EHS products have been widely recognized for their product quality by obtaining certifications such as the European 'Heat Pump KEYMARK,' which guarantees EHS product quality by measuring energy efficiency and performance; 'Eurovent,' a performance certification from the European Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Industry Association; and the 'Quiet Mark,' awarded to low-noise products.

By combining Samsung EHS with solar panels and an Energy Storage System, it is possible to realize a 'Net Zero Home'.

Based on 'SmartThings Energy,' heating and hot water are provided using energy produced by solar panels, and surplus power is stored in an energy storage system for use when needed. It even supports an 'AI Save Mode' that saves energy for appliances when usage exceeds the target amount.
