u-blox (Korea Country Manager Kwang-soo Son), a global leader in positioning and wireless communication technologies and services, will transition to a new CEO system on January 1, 2023.

u-blox announced on the 19th that Stephan Zizala has been appointed as its new CEO.

The new CEO will officially take office on January 1, 2023, having joined u-blox on October 1, 2022, taking over from current CEO Thomas Seiler.

Thomas Zeiler, CEO of u-blox for over 20 years, will retire on December 31, 2022. Following his retirement, Thomas Seiler will remain on the u-blox Board of Directors, advising the company on its management and chairing the newly formed Strategy Committee.

New CEO-designate Stefan Zizala brings over 20 years of management and engineering experience, focusing on microcontrollers and power semiconductors, as well as global customer experience in the industrial and automotive sectors.

Stefan Zizala, the new CEO, was in charge of the “Industrial and Multimarket Microcontrollers” product line at Infineon Technologies AG, one of the world’s leading semiconductor solution providers, from 2009 to 2014, and then the “High Power for Electric Vehicles” business unit, which is responsible for power semiconductors for electric vehicles.

During this period, the division achieved significant growth and established a leading market position. Stefan Zizala studied electrical engineering and information technology at the Technical University of Munich and received his doctorate.
