The Korea Electrotechnology Research Institute (KERI, Acting President Kim Nam-kyun) extended a helping hand to neighbors by collecting a portion of its employees' salaries.

On the 20th, the Korea Electric Research Institute held the 'Sharing Hands of Love and Safety' event for neighbors in need of warm help at the end of the year.

Every year, KERI uses a portion of its employees' salaries and social service donations to purchase daily necessities and deliver them to neighbors in need.

About 30 representatives of the research institute, including Acting Director Kim Nam-gyun, visited 20 households of elderly people living alone, child heads of households, and foster families in the Gyeongnam region and delivered daily necessities (rice, ramen) and safety items such as automatic fire extinguishing multi-outlets.

Due to COVID-19, the delivery process for goods was minimized.

Employees of the research institute's regional organizations (Ansan and Uiwang in Gyeonggi-do, and Gwangju Metropolitan City) also plan to support neighbors in need in nearby areas according to a separate plan.

This year as well, KERI has actively carried out various social contribution activities, including participation in the Fruit of Love Hope Sharing Campaign, donation of funds to comfort soldiers, blood donation campaigns, local environmental cleanup activities, and educational programs to expand the foundation of local science culture.

KERI Acting President Kim Nam-kyun stated, “With the recent increase in difficult circumstances such as rising prices, the number of people in need of assistance has grown, and the institute’s social"I hope that our contribution activities have been of some help," they said, adding, "We will continue to contribute to the local community and become a research institute that practices sharing management."

Meanwhile, KERI is a government-funded research institute under the National Science and Technology Research Council of the Ministry of Science and ICT.
