ST Releases New Version of TouchGFX

A new version of TouchGFX, a free graphics solution dedicated to STM32, has been released, adding various image and design sets to support product development.
STMicroelectronics (ST) announced on the 9th that it has released the latest version of the TouchGFX software package to help easily implement better user interfaces in applications hosted on STM32 microcontrollers.
The new 4.21 version provides TouchGFX Stock, a set of various free graphic designs, images, and icons, which allows users to easily manage graphic assets and consistently create excellent prototypes and final products.
In addition, version 4.21 adds support for SVG images (Scalable Vector Graphics image format), allowing you to freely create excellent UIs. SVG can be accessed as a new widget in the TouchGFX Designer tool and ensures high performance by utilizing specialized graphics hardware provided by ST's STM32 MCUs, such as the NeoChrom GPU processor.
In addition, 4.21 introduced more than 50 additional improvements to TouchGFX Designer in terms of navigation and universal usability to help developers realize their ideas more quickly and efficiently.
TouchGFX is combined with a powerful STM32 development ecosystem that includes software tools, MCU-specific middleware, and evaluation boards, enabling designers to execute projects more quickly and easily. It provides everything needed to implement powerful user interfaces for a wide variety of products, such as consumer electronics, building automation controls, industrial equipment, fitness trackers, other wearables, and medical devices.
TouchGFX version 4.21 is currently available for free by downloading the X-CUBE-TOUCHGFX software package from the ST website.

Databricks Unveils Open AI Security Monitoring 'Lakewatch'
Databricks entered the security market on March 24 by unveiling LakeWatch, an open-source agentic SIEM. The core functionality of this product is to integrate and analyze security, IT, and business data in a single environment to support AI-based threat detection and investigation. The company explained that it reduces the limitations of existing security operations centers, which have had to forgo some data due to high cost structures, and enables large-scale data analysis and automation based on open formats and ecosystems. LakeWatch is currently offered as a private preview, with Adobe and Dropbox mentioned as early customers. Databricks also announced an expanded partnership with Anthropic as well as the acquisition of Antimatter and SiftD.ai.
