Synology has released a 2-bay tower NAS with powerful features in a compact body for home offices and small businesses.

Synology announced the new 2-bay Synology DiskStation model DS723+ on the 13th.

The DS723+ is the smallest product in the all-in-one solution family for home offices and small businesses.

Equipped with the versatile Synology DiskStation Manager (DSM) operating system, the DS723+ provides a comprehensive solution in a lightweight desktop body that includes enterprise data protection and management, easy document collaboration, remote file access, and physical asset monitoring.

Suitable for professional workspaces, small businesses requiring centralized storage, or as an edge node in distributed deployments, the DS723+ can expand drive bays up to seven with DX517 expansion units when more capacity is needed.

Additionally, users can upgrade performance by adding 10GbE connectivity and M.2 NVMe SSD drives through the built-in PCIe slot, enabling high-speed caching or the creation of additional all-flash storage pools.

The DS723+ allows you to intuitively manage files and share them via Synology Drive, combining cross-platform file access with the privacy provided by on-premises storage. For remote teams and businesses operating across multiple locations, cross-site file synchronization can also be used to mirror files between Synology devices.

Through the hybrid cloud features provided by Synology Hybrid Share, users can merge the benefits of on-premises and the cloud by storing cold data in the cloud and caching frequently accessed files on local devices for LAN-speed access.

Windows and Linux systems, Hyper-V/VMware VMs, and Microsoft 365/Google Workspace accounts can be backed up on the DS723+ using Synology's Active Backup Suite, which protects important or sensitive data from ransomware and other cyber threats.

Additionally, to enhance protection levels, users can create backups and point-in-time snapshots of data stored on the NAS and protect them off-site on another server or in the cloud.

The powerful Synology Surveillance Station VMS, which supports over 8,300 verified IP cameras and ONVIF devices, can transform the DS723+ into a complete video management system for storing video surveillance recordings.

Users can quickly set up and manage up to 40 cameras through a modern and customizable interface, and can also overlay floor plans or Google Maps/OpenStreetMap maps when monitoring large or multi-building environments. The resilience and availability of critical recordings are enhanced through simple and effective alternate operation between recording servers, multi-device management, and the option to simultaneously record scenes to the Synology C2 cloud.
