STMicroelectronics (ST) is expected to widely use the STM32 entry-level family, which is the most affordable and supported by a 10-year product longevity assurance program, among developers.

ST announced today that it has further expanded the reach of its STM32 microcontroller (MCU) family with the launch of the STM32C0 series, its most economical series yet.

STM32 MCUs are used in billions of smart industrial, medical, and consumer products worldwide. With thousands of different part numbers, STM32 devices enable product designers to select the features and performance they need at the price point that best suits their market.

ST's new STM32C0 series ensures availability for equipment such as home appliances, industrial pumps, fans, and smoke detectors that are typically supported by simpler 8-bit and 16-bit MCUs.

The STM32C0's latest 32-bit design delivers enhanced capabilities including faster response, additional features, and network connectivity compared to products with similar total cost and power consumption.

At the same time, it provides an easy entry point for new users into the 32-bit space by offering entry-level simplicity and a broad free ecosystem of resources such as tools and software packs, as well as opportunities to connect with diverse developer communities.

The STM32C0 series is available now in volume production and is backed by ST’s industrial product support 10-year product longevity program, renewed annually. There is also a choice of nine packages that offer a variety of attributes, including a small form factor and low profile for easy handling.
