As the semiconductor industry faces a rapidly changing environment due to external factors, an opportunity has been created to share insights on the future of the semiconductor market and suggest key strategies and survival measures.

SAP Korea announced on the 9th that it will hold the 'Global Semiconductor War and Future: C-Level Summit 2023' webinar series with investment advisory firm MAVEK starting on the 28th, featuring major global institutions and scholars.

The four-part seminar series will present solutions to the core strategies and survival measures required by companies based on insights into the future of the semiconductor market. The 'Global Semiconductor War and the Future: C-Level Summit 2023' will be held for the first time on the 28th, and the seminar series will be held on the following topics: △China's semiconductor strategy and response to the US Semiconductor Science and Technology Act (March 28th), △Current status and response of major semiconductor-related countries: Japan, Netherlands, Taiwan, Korea (April 25th), △Semiconductor industry development strategies of ASEAN countries (May 30th).

The first webinar will be titled 'Overview of the US Chips & Science Act and the Global Semiconductor Industry.' Speakers scheduled for this webinar include Clyde Prestowitz, President of the Economic Strategy Institute (ESI); Paula Stern, Ph.D., former Chair of the U.S. International Trade Commission; Jue Wang, Ph.D., Semiconductor Leader at Bain & Company; Mike Pegler, Lead Client Partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC); Christie Simons, Global Semiconductor Leader at Deloitte; and James Khoo, Partner at MAVEK.

In particular, Director Prestowitz held key positions in the Reagan, George HW Bush, Clinton, and Obama administrations. As an assistant to the Secretary of Commerce in the Reagan administration, he led negotiations with Japan, Korea, and China, and in the Clinton administration, he served as Vice Chairman of the President’s Asia-Pacific Trade and Investment Committee. He also served as an advisory member of the Export-Import Bank of the United States. In this webinar, Director Prestowitz explains the U.S. political environment and the historical background of semiconductors.

This webinar begins with a session on the US political environment and semiconductors, and introduces the historical background and the outline and key points of the US Semiconductor Science Act, US government trends and future directions, and their impact on the industry. Afterwards, it presents the current state of the US semiconductor industry, trends and strategies of major semiconductor companies, and future prospects. In addition, it is reported that the trends of global semiconductor countries and companies such as China, Japan, the Netherlands, Taiwan, and Korea will be introduced in detail.
