Avanci, a leader in the more convenient advanced technology sharing market, presents a simple and transparent pricing model through its broadcast platform to enable ATSC 3.0 standard TV and set-top box manufacturers to streamline the licensing process for ATSC 3.0 standard essential technologies.


AVANCI announced on the 8th that it is introducing AVANCI Broadcast, a one-stop licensing platform for ATSC 3.0, the next-generation terrestrial broadcasting standard technology.

The newly launched platform licenses patents from the Korea Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute, LG Electronics, One Media, Panasonic, Samsung Electronics, Sharp, and Sun Patent Trust, which account for more than 70% of all ATSC 3.0-related patents, including standard essential patents.

Avanchi Broadcast is expected to grow further as additional license holders are scheduled to join in the coming months.

LG Electronics, Samsung Electronics, Sony, and Sharp, which participated as early licensees of Avanchi Broadcast, have produced most of all ATSC 3.0 TVs shipped to date.

The ATSC 3.0 standard, developed by the Advanced Television Systems Committee, is used by numerous countries including the United States and Korea. It was adopted as a national terrestrial TV broadcast.

The ATSC 3.0 standard, also known as NextGen TV, enables 4K UHD broadcasting with improved frame rates, color and sound, and other technical elements compared to the previous standard.

It also applies to personalized advertising, on-demand and premium content, and content provided over the internet for interactive services.
