IAR, a global provider of embedded development software and services, is tackling security challenges with IAR Embedded Trust, enabling unique device provisioning and protecting embedded devices from external security threats throughout their entire lifecycle.

IAR announced today the launch of IAR Embedded Trust, the embedded industry's most powerful end-to-end security workflow.

With this latest release, IAR reaffirms its commitment to "Security Made Simple" by enabling customers to quickly and easily manage, prioritize, and mitigate potential security issues.

IAR Embedded Trust protects customers' data and devices through the '4A' features. 'Anti-cloning' introduces the concept of unique identification for software applications and hardware devices to prevent counterfeiting and overproduction at the manufacturing stage.

'Active IP protection' provides security key management capabilities to ensure that applications run only on authenticated devices and only after a successful secure boot process.

'Anti-rollback' includes software update processes and checks to protect against rollback attacks and version control exploits.

'Authentication' ensures the device's identity, encrypted protected data and confidential information, and only runs genuine firmware and updates, all based on trust anchors established on every device to prevent malicious tampering.

This means customers can design security from the early stages of product development through mass production through unique device provisioning. IAR Embedded Trust is a security solution that can be leveraged across any device, allowing customers to easily port existing designs to new microcontrollers. This allows customers to add robust security features to their applications while reducing development time by reusing code rather than having to start from scratch.
