Samsung Electronics' joining of Avansi's diverse licensing platforms as a patent holder is expected to significantly expand the benefits for companies that have previously signed up to utilize Avansi's licenses.

Avanci, a leader in the market for more convenient sharing of advanced technologies, announced on the 19th that Samsung Electronics has joined Avanci's one-stop licensing program as a patent holder, including Avanci Vehicle 4G, Avanci Aftermarket, and Avanci Broadcast.

Avansi has transformed the way companies share technology, allowing manufacturers to access patented technologies held by numerous companies and research institutions through a single, fixed-rate transaction over the life of a product. The Avansi model empowers companies to efficiently access thousands of patents worldwide, unlocking the potential of these technologies and developing innovative new products for their customers.

The Avanci Vehicle 4G model has licensees from over 80 automotive brands, and now has a license for Samsung Electronics' 4/3/2G standard-essential patents for connected vehicles, further enhancing its value. Similarly, Avanci Aftermarket licensees can also leverage the technology for their aftermarket automotive products.

Additionally, Avansi recently launched Avansi Broadcast, a one-stop licensing platform for the ATSC 3.0 television standard. Samsung Electronics, one of the largest contributors to the development of ATSC 3.0 standards, has joined the platform as a patent holder. Other companies that hold licenses covering over 70% of all patent families, including essential patents related to the ATSC 3.0 standard, have joined as early members. Meanwhile, Samsung Electronics, the world's largest TV manufacturer, has also been participating as a licensee in the platform from the beginning. Companies that have manufactured the majority of ATSC 3.0 televisions sold to date are participating as early licensees.
