STMicroelectronics (ST), a global semiconductor company supporting a wide range of electronic applications and customers, provides full support for Microsoft® Visual Studio Code (VS Code) for the entire STM32 family, helping developers fully execute design, coding, and debugging.

ST announced on the 24th that it is expanding support tools for developing STM32 microcontrollers by leveraging the benefits of MS VS Code.

VS Code is an Integrated Development Environment (IDE) widely used by developers, and is well-received for its easy-to-use and flexible features, such as IntelliSense, which simplifies and accelerates code editing.

With support for access to the STM32 ecosystem within VS Code, developers from the broad STM32 community have been able to use these features.

Developers familiar with high-level and consumer application development can also easily implement power-efficient, compact, and economical embedded solutions.

This new support further expands the range of tool choices available to all STM32 developers, including hardware integrators and mass-market customers who typically choose commercial tools or ST's free Eclipse-based STM32CubeIDE environment. VS Code and the STM32 VS Code extension are available for free.
