VMware Updates Security Solutions Focused on "Strong Side Protection"

VMware is better protecting multi-cloud and enterprise branch environments with security solution updates focused on robust lateral protection.
VMware announced on the 25th that it has unveiled new security solution feature updates at the RSA Conference 2023, a global security event, that will provide strong lateral security across multi-cloud environments, enabling customers to proactively detect and block cyber threats.
The feature updates released this time include: △ DPU-based acceleration using SmartNIC to accelerate VMware NSX performance; △ VMware Carbon Black workload and cloud environment configuration for security designed for cloud-native architecture; △ Enhanced firewall service that brings NSX advanced threat prevention capabilities to VMware SD-WAN Edge Appliance to simplify operations at enterprise branch offices; △ VMware Secure App IX for more secure application connectivity across applications and clouds; and △ VMware Workspace ONE updates for phishing and content protection, secure access, and patch management.
In recent months, VMware has released a series of products highlighting DPU-based acceleration of VMware NSX.
Previously available only as a technology preview, now generally available in VMware NSX 4.1, customers can use SmartNICs.This makes it possible to utilize DPU-based acceleration.
This offering enables customers to experience accelerated NSX networking and security performance for applications that require high throughput, reduced connection latency, and security by running NSX networking and security services on the DPU.
