Analog Devices (ADI) announced on the 26th that it has appointed Alan Lee as its Chief Technology Officer (CTO).

As CTO, Alan is responsible for discovering and developing next-generation technologies that will revolutionize the semiconductor industry and foster related markets.

Alan and his team will work closely with ADI's customers, as well as universities, research institutions, and other strategic partners, to foster new technologies and develop an ecosystem to support their market entry.

“Alan is a highly accomplished executive with a wealth of technical experience who will help ADI accelerate its leadership at the Intelligent Edge by expanding our next-generation analog, mixed-signal, power, software and artificial intelligence capabilities,” said Vincent Roche, ADI’s Chairman and CEO. “Alan’s breadth and depth of expertise across technical and commercial domains will support ADI’s goal of enabling our customers to make significant market impact with advanced innovations. Prior to joining ADI, Alan served as Head of Research and Advanced Development at AMD. At AMD, his team developed groundbreaking hardware, software, artificial intelligence, and high-performance computing (HPC) technologies, achieving numerous innovations and patents over the past decade. Prior to AMD, he was CEO of a privately held company developing high-frequency trading and quantitative financial analysis technologies. Prior to that, he worked at Intel and IBM, gaining expertise in large-scale multinational engineering and technology projects.

A prominent figure in the semiconductor industry, Alan currently serves as Chairman of the CTO Committee of the Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA) and the CTO Committee of the Global Semiconductor Alliance (GSA). He has also served on the Board of Directors of the Semiconductor Research Corporation (SRC) and the NSF Institute for Pure and Applied Mathematics.
